Stuff that either came together later or just didn't make it into his write-up because it wasn't big enough.

Description: The tale of Sasaki Kojirō's ill-fated duel with Miyamoto Musashi is old news. The people of Japan know this story.

What most of them don't know is about the descendants he left behind who still practice Ganryū, who still nurse that old grudge against Musashi, and who foretold that their scions would fight again at the end of the world.

Hideaki is that scion. Born in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture, the elder of two sons, he was raised on this story, and has been training for that battle since the time he could walk - both in the Kashima Shinden Jikishinkage-ryū style of kenjutsu, which he practices more openly, and in Ganryū, which he is careful not to use publicly, for there's no sense in entering a life-and-death battle where your enemy knows everything you can do. Although he has mastered his ancestor's signature technique, the Tsubame-gaeshi, he holds it particularly close and none outside of his family have seen it.

One year prior to game start, he moved to Tokyo to ensure that he'd have time to settle in before things went to hell, and he has been staying with his uncle, who owns a dojo in Chiyoda-ku. He is attending Hibiya High School as a third year.

Outwardly cold (though perhaps not so bad, if one can get through his walls), unflinchingly dedicated, and a bit of a drywall personality, he's been preparing for this fight all his life, and he shows no doubts about his fate - even if that fate may be to die.
